*WHEN YOU WERE THERE**
Episode 8
Weeks turned into months, and news about Mona.

Kester have moved on and will soon be rounding up his program in school.

   He sat in his room and thought;
If Mona was truly pregnant, then she is carrying my seed!
And now, no trace of her, he said and sighed.

Mona turned into a very bitter, rude and mannerless lady.

Grandma has been sick and Mona didn't notice.

Mona's ordeal and behavior made matter worst and grandma is not recovering from her illness.

Kester graduated!

Mona was delivered of a baby girl, though there were complications.

   Mona named the child gold.

There's an evangelist who often visit Mona's village with his wife to hold a massive crusade, they are newly weeded couples.

Mona became an auxiliary nurse in a government hospital.

Grandma died and Mona's world came crashing.

Kester soon secured a job in a federal hospital at Abuja.

Things seems to be working well for Kester while Mona was experiencing the other side of the story.

There was an accident when coming from a missionary work, the evangelist lost his wife and he was in a very critical condition.

He was admitted in the same hospital that Mona works.

   After few weeks, he gained consciousness and Mona was tiding up his room when he woke up with a song;
I sing because am happy,
I sing because am free,
His eyes are on the sparrows,
And I know He watches me.

  Mona heard him singing,
Oh! Pastor,
 U are awake!
Mona said excitedly,

  Let me get the doctor,
she said and left the patient who was still singing.

The doctor came in, attended to him and told him all that happened.

God is faithful, the evangelist said and wept bitterly.

The name of the evangelist is Felix, he is very fair, and also very tall and slim. He graduated as a technical student from Ghana and went into ministry.
His wife jumoke, was 8weeks pregnant for their first baby before she died.
He is Kester's older brother.

Mona kept all that happened concerning pastor Felix's recovering in heart and pondered on it.

Since she had his audience, she decided to speak with him.

  Good evening Pastor,
 Mona greeted.

   God bless you my dear,
he replied

How are u feeling now,? She furthered.

Growing from strength to strength, Felix replied, smiling at her.

And you have been helpful too, keeping my ward clean is a great job you know, thumbs up, Felix said, raising up his right thumb.

Mona ignored the compliment and continued,
....Sorry about the death of your wife, Mona consoled.

There's nothing to be sorry about, she doing better than I am now, he said and made to sit up.

Mona tried to introduce a conversation.

  Sir,
Your family,
Non of them have come to check on u since the incident, Mona said, picking up things from the floor.

Felix was silent for a while and replied,

  They have been coming,
You just haven't noticed them around. Felix replied

Really??
Mona said, looking surprise.

   Am always here,
How come I never get to see them?
Mona asked.

   Look behind you,
One is standing there, Felix said, pointing towards her direction.

Mona quickly turned back but saw no one.

  Stop joking,
Am serious,
Mona said, squeezing her face.

Felix started laughing.

My family are invisible to the natural man,
I exist outside this realm.
Felix said confidently.

 Pastor! Your real parents,
 Mona giggled, shaking her head.

OK..where are you from?
Mona asked.

   Zion!
Felix replied without waiting for the question to land.

They are actually my real family,
 Felix affirmed

Or do you mean my earthly and biological family?
Felix helped, smiling at her.

Yes!
And you know that's what I was asking,
Mona queried.
.....To be continued.

De-starching the Leaves of a Plant

De-starching the Leaves of a Plant 'De-starch (or Destarch) the leaves of a potted plant' is one of the preliminary steps in a  photosynthesis experiment . Biology students often ask the following questions about de-starching. What is  the definition of de-starching? Why it is necessary to de-starch the leaves of a plant before conducting photosynthesis experiments? What happens to the starch stores when the potted plant is deprived of light or carbon dioxide? How to de-starch the leaves of a plant? What is the definition of de-starching? De-starching is the process by which the starch reserves in a plant are depleted by depriving the plant of either light or carbon dioxide.  Why is it necessary to de-starch the leaves of a plant before conducting photosynthesis experiments? We test for the presence  of starch  in leaves in order to determine that photosynthesis has occurred. Glucose -  the product of photosynthe

Ethanol Emulsion Test for Fats and Oils

Ethanol Emulsion Test for Fats and Oils The  Ethanol Emulsion Test  is a  food test  which determines the presence of a broad group of naturally occurring compounds known as  lipids . Lipids consist of  fats  and  oils . Other lipid tests include the  Grease Spot Test  and the  Sudan Stain Test . The Grease spot test is performed on fats - lipids which are solid at room temperature. Sudan stain colours lipids red, but is a less common bench reagent than ethanol. The Ethanol Emulsion Test is the most common test amongst the three. Procedure Solid sample  Crush  the food sample and place in a dry test tube. Add ethanol  to about 2 cm3 above the level of the sample and shake thoroughly. Allow the solid to  settle  (about 3 min) to allow the lipid to be extracted. Decant  the ethanol into another test tube. Add 2 cm3 of  deionized water  to the second test tube Make observations. Liquid sample Add a  few drops  of the liquid food sample to a dry te
