*WHEN YOU WHERE THERE*
Episode 19
Felix is well traveled so all things where made right.

He had prepared the table and wine was just by the corner.

     Mona came in.

    Wow!
Everywhere is smelling beautifully,
Mona said as she walked in.

    Ah!
I smell fish!
Fried fish!
Mona said, pipping at the dinning.

  Anybody home??
She called out.

Felix came out, wearing a kitchen apron.

He smiled and went to hug her.

   You smell kitchen,
Mona joked.

   You've been cooking? Mona asked.

   Yes,
Since morning,
Felix replied, looking at her dress.

So are we in afternoon now?
Which one is since morning?
Mona said, laughing.

   You look sweet,
Like the chicken am frying.
Felix complimented.

   There's chicken too?
Mona asked, opening her eyes wide.

   Yes Felix said,
Am still frying it.

Hope its not a sin to compliment a sister,
Felix said, eying her.

Mona laughed and made to go to the kitchen.

.... Felix stopped her by gently holding her waist.

Mona paused and looked at Felix who quickly removed his hand from the waist.

You are not invited to the kitchen,
He said, and sat her down on the coach.

Hm hm,
I prefer to sit at the dinning,
Mona said, shaking her head.

   Will be right back,
Felix said and went to serve the chicken.

Mona sat smiling, and wondering what all the preparation was for.

Felix rushed and had a quick bath, changed into a nicker that's just at his kneels, and a tight fitted pollo.

He came out looking good, and Mona wowed at the sight.

Brother, please stop wearing suit oo, Mona joked, looking at his chest.

   Oh!
This?
Felix said, touching his chest.
I have 6 packs,
Am a macho man!
Felix bragged.

   And they both laughed.

But hope am not seducing you?
Felix winked at her.

   No,
Mona said shyly.
Even though she wasn't sure of her answer.

Felix led her to the dinning and they both sat.

He made attempt to dish out the meal but Mona stopped him by holding his right hand tight with hers.

    Felix looked at her.

What?
What's going on?
What are all these about?
Mona asked, looking straight at Felix.

   Felix was already shaking.

  How do I start?
He thought within himself.

   Please sit Mona,
Felix said, placing his other hand on her shoulder.

I just want to give you a kingly treat, you deserve it.
Felix said and smiled.

All these preparation for just that explanation?
Mona said, looking around.

   No!
Felix said affirm.
But please let's eat, am not going to bite you, I promise!
Felix said smiling.

Felix got up and served the food.
It was fried rice, and fried fish with chicken.

They both ate and talked while eating, playing with the food.

Few times Felix made attempt to feed her with his spoon but she often smile and ignore it.

After the meal, Felix packed the dishes to the kitchen and left only the wine.

Felix came back and cleared his throat.

One word for my cooking skills,
Felix said, serving the wine.

   You tried!
Mona said, expecting a reaction.

   Just that?
After much effort?
Come on, say something sweet,
Felix insisted.

   Sugar!
Mona said laughing.

  Sugar??
I don't understand!
Felix said, looking confused as he sat.

You asked for something sweet and I recommend sugar, sugar is sweet.
Mona said, attempting to provoke Felix.

   You are so impossible,!
Felix exclaimed laughing.

The food was great, sweet, tasteful, and delicious.
Mona praised Felix.

Help me!
My head!
I feel its increasing.
Felix said, holding his head and they both laughed.

So, now that you have over fed me, I hope you'll now tell me what this is about?
Mona said.

   Yes Mona,
I have great respect for time, and so do you.
Felix started.

   Let's talk Mona.
Felix said and dropped his glass of wine.

......To be continued.

De-starching the Leaves of a Plant

De-starching the Leaves of a Plant 'De-starch (or Destarch) the leaves of a potted plant' is one of the preliminary steps in a  photosynthesis experiment . Biology students often ask the following questions about de-starching. What is  the definition of de-starching? Why it is necessary to de-starch the leaves of a plant before conducting photosynthesis experiments? What happens to the starch stores when the potted plant is deprived of light or carbon dioxide? How to de-starch the leaves of a plant? What is the definition of de-starching? De-starching is the process by which the starch reserves in a plant are depleted by depriving the plant of either light or carbon dioxide.  Why is it necessary to de-starch the leaves of a plant before conducting photosynthesis experiments? We test for the presence  of starch  in leaves in order to determine that photosynthesis has occurred. Glucose -  the product of photosynthe

Ethanol Emulsion Test for Fats and Oils

Ethanol Emulsion Test for Fats and Oils The  Ethanol Emulsion Test  is a  food test  which determines the presence of a broad group of naturally occurring compounds known as  lipids . Lipids consist of  fats  and  oils . Other lipid tests include the  Grease Spot Test  and the  Sudan Stain Test . The Grease spot test is performed on fats - lipids which are solid at room temperature. Sudan stain colours lipids red, but is a less common bench reagent than ethanol. The Ethanol Emulsion Test is the most common test amongst the three. Procedure Solid sample  Crush  the food sample and place in a dry test tube. Add ethanol  to about 2 cm3 above the level of the sample and shake thoroughly. Allow the solid to  settle  (about 3 min) to allow the lipid to be extracted. Decant  the ethanol into another test tube. Add 2 cm3 of  deionized water  to the second test tube Make observations. Liquid sample Add a  few drops  of the liquid food sample to a dry te
