*WHEN YOU WHERE THERE*
Episode 11
.... Mona is 3 years older than Patricia, her maid.

The maid quietly collected the money from Mona and left.

How come I seem to do everything by myself when that's the reason she is here???
Mona murmured.

    "There no pap ma"
Mona mimicked,

Look at the way she even said it, as if am supposed to award her for that!

Am even suppose to hit that her dirty mouth.
 Mona continued.

Who even know if she's the one drinking the pap,

   I don't even trust her.
Mona exclaimed, facing Felix.

   Felix didn't say a word.

Ummmh!
What were we even saying before that idiot interrupted???
Mona asked Felix who was just watching her.

Nurse Mona,
Let's talk.
Felix said silently.

What???
I hope it's not about what just happened???
Mona questioned.

No!
Its about what happened before.
Felix said, looking keen at Mona.

I don't believe you were always like this,
Felix started,

If mama was you grandmother, then.....

Felix paused, trying to find a better way to go about it for Mona not to be offended.

...... I mean, I know her very well.

Mama is a very nice person,
I buy most of my things from her and that's why I came here straight.

It was later I learnt that she's late.

  Am sorry about her death.
Felix consoled.

And there  was few minutes silence, as they both sat, watching space.

    I was asking,
How's the baby?
Felix broke the silence.

   And what's her name?
Felix added.

 Gold,
Mona replied.
Ignoring the first question.

Felix noticed that Mona was cold and he tried to lighten her mood.

   As in gold and silver??
Felix teased.

   How about diamond and bronze??
Felix continued, stretching forth his hands to collect the baby.

And Mona gave him the baby,
Laughing heartily.

  She's gold!
As in golden,
Mona said and laughed.

Felix quickly noticed that the same angry Mona was already laughing again within few seconds but was scared to mention.

   Her body is hot!
Felix noted,
Holding the baby.

Yea,
She's sick,
Mona replied.

   Can I pray with her??
Felix asked, looking up at Mona and holding one of the baby's hand.

   Don't worry,
She's already on medication.
Mona said, paying no attention to him.

   Why???
You don't believe in prayers too??
Felix asked, looking surprise.

Too??
Mona said, looking at Felix with her eyes wide open.

What do you mean by "too"??
Mona asked.

What don't I believe in that prayer becomes a "too"???
Mona said with much anger from her voice.

Felix was not paying attention to Mona,
He was looking at the baby,

He couldn't place it, but there's something so similar about the child that connects him to her.

  She's beautiful,
Felix said,
Like you,
Felix added, looking at Mona's face.

Mona was null.
.....To be continued.

De-starching the Leaves of a Plant

De-starching the Leaves of a Plant 'De-starch (or Destarch) the leaves of a potted plant' is one of the preliminary steps in a  photosynthesis experiment . Biology students often ask the following questions about de-starching. What is  the definition of de-starching? Why it is necessary to de-starch the leaves of a plant before conducting photosynthesis experiments? What happens to the starch stores when the potted plant is deprived of light or carbon dioxide? How to de-starch the leaves of a plant? What is the definition of de-starching? De-starching is the process by which the starch reserves in a plant are depleted by depriving the plant of either light or carbon dioxide.  Why is it necessary to de-starch the leaves of a plant before conducting photosynthesis experiments? We test for the presence  of starch  in leaves in order to determine that photosynthesis has occurred. Glucose -  the product of photosynthe

Ethanol Emulsion Test for Fats and Oils

Ethanol Emulsion Test for Fats and Oils The  Ethanol Emulsion Test  is a  food test  which determines the presence of a broad group of naturally occurring compounds known as  lipids . Lipids consist of  fats  and  oils . Other lipid tests include the  Grease Spot Test  and the  Sudan Stain Test . The Grease spot test is performed on fats - lipids which are solid at room temperature. Sudan stain colours lipids red, but is a less common bench reagent than ethanol. The Ethanol Emulsion Test is the most common test amongst the three. Procedure Solid sample  Crush  the food sample and place in a dry test tube. Add ethanol  to about 2 cm3 above the level of the sample and shake thoroughly. Allow the solid to  settle  (about 3 min) to allow the lipid to be extracted. Decant  the ethanol into another test tube. Add 2 cm3 of  deionized water  to the second test tube Make observations. Liquid sample Add a  few drops  of the liquid food sample to a dry te
